21 December 2024 - 22 Januar 2025, Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello

Group show I Venice, Italy

My biggest professional joy of 2024 was the opening night of a group show by our newly-formed art collective, artISIa, held on December 21 at Palazzo Albrizzi-Capello. Here are some impressions from the exhibition.

artISIa is a collective of women artists from all over the world, based in Berlin. We speak different languages and explore diverse themes, but we all share the experience of living far from home, finding our place in a foreign land, and expressing our joys and struggles through visual art. Working alongside such talented and inspiring women has made it so much easier for me to pursue what I love this past year!

Our collective and this exhibition are supported by I.S.I. e.V., a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering self-employed women with migration backgrounds.

Visual Narratives: Creative Journeys of Migrant Women Artists in Germany

8 - 17 November 2024, Bardo Projektraum

Group show I Berlin, Germany

For the first time I presented my 3D artworks, striving for a closer interconnection with the viewer. I captured my personal reflections on the roles of mother, wife, and woman in today’s society, inspiring a deeper contemplation of what may exist beneath the surface of seemingly happy, family focused women.

“I am always here for you, dear” was intended to reflect the widespread male expectation that a woman should always be ready for sexual intimacy. Artificial breasts, as a part of the composition, were available for visitors to touch for a small fee.

Under the title “The World Is My Oyster – Motherhood” I presented a video, recorded by a friend of mine for a women’s forum, where she shares her recent experiences of motherhood. She describes how her hopes and plans fell apart, how her suffering and needs were stigmatized during pregnancy and childbirth, and how, since then, she has had to fight literally for survival, lacking sleep, intellectual or emotional nourishment, and professional fulfillment.

I am delighted to share with you an exceptional experience of participating in a traveling group exhibition titled “SichtbarSEIN”. The opening took place in the gorgeous hall of the Embassy of Mexico in Berlin. Additionally, a catalog was printed featuring the artists and their works.

“SichtbarSEIN” is an exhibition project of the ISI e.V.. Impressive works of approximately 12 women artists from different countries are showcased, depicting the diverse panorama of female migration experiences and reflecting the stories, identities, and challenges of these women.

I’m so amazed by the rapid growth of my artistic journey, which gives me the determination to further explore and develop my skills in this direction, embracing each new challenge as an opportunity for growth and self-expression.
